Our History

Atlantic Northeast is a Virtual Airline, which flys it's flights in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, 2004, and FSX. We burst onto the VA scene in 2003 as a leisure airline, operating a couple of Boeing 757 aircraft on routes to holiday destinations in Spain and North Africa. Since then, we haven't looked back, and have grown to become one of the largest virtual airlines on the web.

The airline was founded, and is still run, by Andrew Butcher. When the organisation was first established, Andrew was a high school student. Since then, he has completed a university degree in Business and Information Systems, and has spent two years working at a consultancy firm in London. Currently taking a career break, he will begin a teacher training course in September as he prepares for the next stage in his career. All the while, he has kept and eye on the running of the airline.

Andrew is now supported by a large team of individuals. Each of our five hubs is headed up by a Hub Manager. Allen De Lint, Hub Manager for Stansted is a close friend of Mr Butcher and played a key role in setting up the airline. He joined the company formally in early 2005 when Atlantic Northeast was merged with his own airline, Siskin Aviation; a major Boeing 737 operator also based at Stansted.

The start of 2009 is a very exciting time at Atlantic Northeast. A complete website redesign has seen the airline maintain it's position as one of the industry leaders, with significant time and money being invested into the new system which is likely to take us well into the next decade. The airline never stops looking for new ways to break new markets, and is currently helping to support a new UK regional venture.
